Can you help with rehoming emu or other ratites, ones that need specialist care, or help with capturing escaped ratites near your location? Or perhaps you can offer transport services for such situations? If so, then please let us know where you are (country and area) and what you can offer, along with your contact details and the distance you are prepared to travel to help.

Also, if we are informed of escaped emu or rhea, we shall add a notification to this page with any current information we have.

This page is intended for voluntary help with emu rescue, capture of escaped birds and transportation, to return them home or to a rescue centre that can take them in.

Please note: when an escaped 'emu' is in the local media, it could actually be a rhea, or vice versa! As witness descriptions are often inaccurate. This is why this page includes rhea too, and is not exclusively for emu.
